Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity at Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, to lead a global digital marketing team to continue its successful journey of transformation.

The firm is currently recruiting a Global Director of Digital Marketing who will shape and direct the digital marketing strategies and activities for the firm. The candidate will be data-driven and have team leadership experience in managing a mixed-disciplined digital marketing function. Responsibilities across several key areas including but not limited to digital platforms, email amp; content marketing and CRM. A keen eye for technical excellence and a firm understanding of customer/client led approaches to deliver best in class digital experiences. The Global Director Digital Marketing will work seamlessly with the wider Clients amp; Markets function and with global and regional functional leaders from across the firm.

Requirements

Shape, plan, and drive the digital marketing execution of the firm's strategy and its transformational go-to-market strategy, positioning the firm for success in a digital world. Lead the firm’s global digital marketing function responsible for all external facing digital marketing platforms. Specifically:

  • Shape, plan and drive the digital marketing execution of the firm's strategy and its transformational go-to-market strategy. This will entail substantive evolution of our client-facing digital assets with a focus on user experience and delivering on our promise of being the law firm of the future.
  • Advise stakeholders on the effective use of digital marketing platforms to achieve business objectives. Working in partnership with marketing, BD and brand colleagues, deliver integrated and data driven marketing campaigns across the digital channels.
  • Drive and support the shift towards digitization of firm marketing, with a strong focus on the commercial and reputational impacts of our digital activity, thus advising on effective prioritization, focus and optimization of content.
  • Manage the digital technology stack. This currently includes: global website (and the associated products), email marketing, CRM, mobile applications and the Nextlaw Referral amp; Public Affairs Networks, as well as social media tools such as PostBeyond. Develop platform capabilities that enhances the client’s digital experience at Dentons as well as respond to bespoke business requirements for new digital capabilities to support client requests. Monitor trends in digital marketing and development, using findings to inform digital strategies, data management and future projects.
  • Lead and manage a global digital marketing team located in a variety of locations worldwide, of which 6 direct reports, based in the UK, US, Canada amp; Poland. Evolve the operating model to most efficiently and effectively deliver on strategic and servicing requirements. Manage the Digital Marketing team’s budget and financial planning.
  • With input from the Risk team, manage data privacy, storage and regulatory issues as they relate to client communications such as email marketing and CRM.
  • Oversee the due diligence, onboarding and integration of all combining firms into the Digital Marketing infrastructure.

Build trusted relationships and or partnerships with our external vendors.

Required Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • A proven record as a strategic thinker, with the ability to influence senior leaders across a complex global organisation is essential.
  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of the firm's strategy, brand and values, and to interpret these in relation to client acquisition, engagement, conversion, retention, loyalty and advocacy.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to drive change and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in Digital Marketing, including CRM.
  • Proven experience developing strategic partnerships with external vendors to deliver commercial relationships which offer best value.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to not only shape but persuade senior leaders and other stakeholders. Be a catalyst for change and new ways of working.
