Are you an experienced Supply Chain Director with experience of Logistics?
We have an exciting new opportunity to come and join the Leadership team here at Covetrus Northern Europe.
We are currently looking for someone to be responsible for all warehouse and distribution functions across multiple facilities in UK and Ireland. You will set the strategic direction for all operational functions in alignment to wider business and commercial strategic objectives. Responsible for the strategic direction of warehousing, transportation, inventory management, shipping and receiving you will evaluate, plan, and direct the cost-effective distribution of inventory.
Ensure all operational facilities are compliant with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations. Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and engagement to the Operations teams across the UK and Ireland.
Responsible for the logistics projects at pan-European level, particularly related to: logistic footprint redesign, new operating models (B2C, B2B2C), automation and outsourcing.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible to set the strategic direction and goals of all operational functions across Northern Europe
- Use benchmark and industry insights to set clear direction of focus for all teams across the UK and Ireland
- Drive pan-European projects or initiatives
- Lead the project development from concept to final design and approval
- Support local operational management teams
- Responsible for statutory adherence to all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
- Performance Management and Team Development
- Engage with the Continuous Improvement Manager to initiate, support and drive all CI projects across the Operations teams
- Responsible for departmental budget tracking, headcount management
- Adhering to company policies, procedures and directives
You
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience within operations, logistics or supply chain is an essential requirement
- Proven leadership experience of a large team (100+)
- The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Project management and logistic solution design experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
- Experience on sourcing 3PL services
- Thorough knowledge of supply chain process is required with a comprehensive understanding of ERP (SAP would be advantageous)
