Job Description

MATCHESFASHION are revolutionising the way we communicate with our customers at every touchpoint to ensure we are delighting our customers and exceeding their expectations, while driving the overall growth of the brand's audience and their engagement in accordance with our expansion plans.

To help us achieve this, all creative agency, communications and brand marketing teams recently united together as one Brand and Content Team to cover the full customer journey, creating opportunities to streamline and review our marketing proposition, and further elevate our customer experience.

The Korean-language sub-editor will be key to the delivery of our Korean-language editorial content. Supported by, and reporting to, the Korean-language chief sub-editor editor, you will write, translate and sub-edit features, email content, ecommerce assets and more across the men’s and women’s sites. Together with the Korean-language chief sub-editor, you will help to establish and maintain a modern-luxury style across our Korean-language site and will bring your local knowledge of the Korean ecommerce market to bear when writing and creating fresh content, including using your visual sense to pull product and conceive pages. You will have plenty of experience translating high-quality content that has a strong point of view and will be able to use sensitivity and a deft touch to preserve the writer’s tone of voice.

KEY FOCUS AREAS:

  • Translating Korean-language features, emails and marketing copy in keeping with the MATCHESFASHION house style.
  • Writing and sub-editing Korean-language and market-specific features, merchandising with product where appropriate.
  • Providing up to date knowledge of local industry development and analysing information and data to maximise copy performance for SEO
  • Adapting email, affiliate, marketing and promotional copy for the Korean-language site.
  • Liaising with the wider brand and content team, the Korean-language chief sub-editor and the external translation agency to ensure a smooth translation workflow.
  • QAing content across multiple browsers and devices, ensuring accuracy of content and functionality across our fully responsive site.
  • Managing administration of the translation department/project.
  • WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
  • Great decision-making: you will use market-specific knowledge, facts and data to support your creative instincts in making decisions, and act quickly where you pre-empt risks to the business.
  • Creativity and innovation: your curiosity means you continually experiment and innovate in the knowledge that some experiments will fail, and these provide valuable learning.
  • Details matter: your keen eye for detail means that the content you work on and produce is best-in-class and inspires customers to engage and shop with us. Keeping close to the detail means that you are able to make thoughtful decisions that actively reduce friction in the customer experience.
  • Act like an owner: you will proactively address issues when you see them arise, identify and create new opportunities and always look for incremental and step change improvements.
  • Customers at the heart of all thinking: you will use your market-specific knowledge and judgement to put yourself in the place of the customer and anticipate their needs when writing, translating and sub-editing.
