Chartis is experiencing high demand and increased growth in its traditional markets and has an aggressive expansion plan into other markets and regions.

We are now looking for a high-caliber Business Development Manager for the Chartis Research business. You will have strong commercial acumen and either experience working in a financial institution, as a salesperson within a management consulting firm, as a salesperson within a research firm in the financial services industry, or other similar relevant experience. . You will also have an entrepreneurial mind set, a strong motivation to drive commercial results and an international outlook. Moreover, you will have a good understanding of how technology is transforming the financial services sector.

The Role

Based in London, the Business Development Manager for Chartis Research will be responsible for driving Chartis’ EMEA and India sales and business development. As Infopro is an acquisitive company, further scope might be added to the role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Spearhead business development and sales in the region: Promote and sell Chartis Research capabilities to vendors, banks, asset managers, wealth managers, insurers and professional services firms in EMEA and India. In this capacity, the objective is to drive sales, generate demand and maximize growth for our research capabilities by growing subscriptions and advisory revenues.
  • Diversify and scale the business: The successful candidate will be expected to grow the current client roster in their region with respect to memberships, custom research, advisory services and sale of associated products;
  • Build a strong relationship with the research team: Chartis is a relationship business, both with its clients but also withing the teams. The ideal candidate will have a track record of cooperative business development and will work closely with the research team to identify opportunities and deliver sales growth of quality research and advisory.
  • Support the expansion agenda at Chartis: The expansion plans for Chartis are based on both overall revenue growth but also on margin improvement. The executive is expected to both grow their sales portfolio but also to work with brand management to enhance the margins on all membership, research and advisory work.

Structure and Size of Team

You will report to Chartis Head of Sales located in North America. Initially the candidate will be the sole sales executive in the region but future growth is likely to offer team management opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the financial services sector with a financial institution, financial research organization, professional services firm or a financial technology vendor
  • A proven track record of client and prospect relationship building as well as sales success
  • Successful experience devising territory and account plansAble to understand and drive solution selling
  • Must have technical acumen to understand Chartis’ clients business strategies and problems, competitor solutions and prospective objections, and/or the capacity to learn high level technical terms and processes
  • Comfortable and able to engage credibly and build relationships with C-level management
  • A university degree is required with an advanced degree or certificate preferred
  • Must be a team player willing to work across Chartis Research to drive sales
