The role

Reporting to the Corporate Engagement Lead, you will manage, support and sustain relationships and partnerships with new and existing businesses, initially nationally, and later internationally. Your aim is to achieve income growth and support IOSH’s wider objectives by building strategic relationships which help them to deliver their strategy, purposefully.

You will support the development and implementation of partnership engagement strategies based on business sector, customer insight and market intelligence, combining these with appropriate tactical solutions to deliver successful outcomes for our customers and our team. You’ll be quick to provide resolutions to mobilise internal and external stakeholders.

The person

You will have experience of consultative selling, developing partnerships with businesses and influential senior-level relationships that deliver business aims. You’ll be income target driven with a keen eye on the margin.

You’ll be a self-starter with a proven track record of partnership engagement, with success in maximising income and value from both new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and understanding of customer relations and practices, especially in national and multinational employers, and an appreciation for other cultures and how occupational safety and health and education contribute to business and societal success.

Active listening, negotiation and influencing skills are a must to be successful in this role. Experience of developing partnerships in a sustainability context is highly desirable.

Knowledge criteria:

  • A good understanding of the customer relationship management process.
  • Knowledge of customer relations and practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate a broad strategic view of the issues and long-term impact to internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and abilities criteria:

  • Working constructively towards a win-win situation to gain a successful outcome through effective negotiations.
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders to support a vision/direction which has strategic influence.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with the ability to identify and understand the customer’s needs.
  • Demonstrable ability to be forward-thinking and insightful, ambitious for transformation and demonstrable possession of an entrepreneurial approach.
  • Self-motivation with the drive to achieve targets.
  • Ability to forecast activities accurately and support the financial planning process.
  • Ability to recommend solutions and drive business improvements that support significant income growth.

Experience criteria:

  • Experience of securing new business opportunities globally and managing and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Experience of leading consultancy sales through initial engagement, proposal development and contract agreement.
  • Track record of consultative sales with success in maximising income and value.
  • Experience of seeking new business opportunities, managing and growing existing customer accounts by creating partnerships and developing influential senior-level relationships.
  • Experienced in building alliances and maintaining effective relationships which include high-level contact, partnership and alliance-building.
  • Experience of working in a global market.

Education criteria:

  • Relevant degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable commitment to CPD e.g. membership to a professional body.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is 28,500 to 35,500. The starting salary will be dependent on the successful candidate having the relevant skills and experience required for the post. IOSH operates a performance related pay scheme where you have the opportunity to progress your pay based on your performance in the role, including participation in the IOSH employee bonus scheme.
