A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a multi-award-winning contractor, who are looking to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee a mobile building services maintenance division delivering mechanical, electrical and HVAC services to clients predominantly within the commercial office environment.
This position would suit a Contract Manager, Operations Manager or Technical Services Manager who is confident in a client-facing capacity, providing operational leadership and technical support to a team of multi-skilled building services engineers, and management of specialist sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of planned preventative maintenance programme, reactive maintenance, and mechanical and electrical small-works projects.
- Provide technical and practical mechanical and electrical maintenance related advice to clients, and ensure services are delivered to the highest standards of quality and health amp; safety.
- Develop policies and procedures relating to planned and reactive maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with statutory or regulatory requirements good practice.
- Manage and monitor all contracted costs in line with the client contract ensuring that costs are controlled, and quality is maintained, delivering the commercial success of the contact.
- Control of contractual variations, including confirmation of cost to the client and co-ordination of suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Assist the Sales Manager in assessing tenders, site surveys, preparing asset lists, labour, and material costings.
- Support the delivery of increased turnover and profitability.
- Management of the mobile engineering team, ensuring the Maintenance Division achieves its KPI’s, objectives and financial targets.
- Devise and provide regular management reports covering all reactive and planned activities to enable monitoring of performance and effective targeting of resources.
- Carry out regular quality checks using sub-contractor assessments on quality, workmanship, and competence of each sub-contractor.
- Manage various contractors on behalf of the client to undertake reactive maintenance works in accordance with performance targets and procedures.
- Recruit, train, develop and motivate staff within the maintenance operations team, as well as ensuring the achievement of performance standards.
- Management and co-ordination of mobile engineers, including labour planning and resourcing to cover PPM and call outs.
- Comply with the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System at all times whilst at work and follow all related safe systems of work and risk assessments that are produced for the tasks carried out.
- Ensure that the training needs of all staff are regularly assessed and that the required training is delivered maintaining technical expertise within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience of managing mechanical and electrical building services maintenance, in a commercial office facilities management environment.
- Expert knowledge of legally required mechanical and electrical engineering standards.
- Knowledge of Health amp; Safety requirements including RAMS.
- Strong financial management and commercial awareness.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and ability to work under pressure.
- Highly organised with ability to prioritise and manage workloads.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Flexible, with strong teamwork and customer service skills
