Job Description
You will be part of a small but dynamic legal team and report into the Managing Counsel responsible for lending, treasury, forward flow transactions and business banking. This is a new role and it can be based in either our London or Cardiff office.
You will support a number of different initiatives across the bank with an emphasis on corporate and retail lending and business banking. Experience in government-backed lending schemes would be a plus.

The role will include:
- Advising on legal and regulatory issues related to SME lending and business banking;
- Drafting and negotiating a range of agreements to support the development of the business;
- Managing multiple projects and supporting colleagues to ensure business and enterprise-wide initiatives are executed in a timely and accurate manner; and
- Instructing and working with outside counsel where necessary on specialist matters.
Requirements
- Excellent legal training;
- Newly Qualified to 2 years PQE* with ideally a mix of private practice and in-house experience;
- Experience in retail and SME banking, including lending and core transactional banking services. Knowledge of derivatives, securities and money market products and trading would be desirable, but not essential.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be keen to grow and develop within the organisation.
