How can you change it up?

You’ll be joining one of our busiest divisions, Network Build, to lead, develop, motivate and inspire a team of street works team members looking after the North of the UK including Scotland. You’ll be working to make sure our suppliers are compliant to NRSWA by guiding our street works teams to take steps in supporting them in the proactive avoidance of fines. With a strong focus on collaboration with not just our contractors and local build teams, but also forging influential relationships with multiple Local Council Authorities.

Some of your other key areas of focus will be:

  • Working closely across multiple regions (up to 57 cities) and forging strong relationships with internal stake holders and local council officials
  • Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to support strategic development, barrier busting sessions and changes / improvements to street works policy and code of practice
  • Ensuring your team are monitoring the processing of street works notifications, permits and inspections ensuring compliance in accordance with legislation and guidelines with a strong focus on:-
      • Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA)
      • Highways Act 1980 (HA)
      • New Roads amp; Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA)
      • Codes of Practice
  • Developing team members internal processes and working practices with a high-level strategic view of street works operational performance, highlighting key risks, sharing best practice and supporting plans to improve where needed
  • Supporting Operations to build and maintain positive relationships with local authorities, ensuring effective engagement takes place early in a project
  • Ensuring principle contractors are fully onboarded, providing Symology training if needed
  • Supporting Operations to create and monitor improvement plans to support our street works KPI performance
  • Conducting case studies and root cause analysis to determine the most effective way of complying to NRSWA

What will you bring to the role?

You’ll come from a street works or civils project management background and have sound knowledge of NRSWA (units 1-16), excellent team leadership skills and experience dealing with the coordinator of legislative bodies associated with street works. You’ll also have:

  • Working knowledge of the SROH and SROR
  • Experience dealing with payment of FPN’s, S74’s and other street works invoices
  • Familiarity with street works management systems, ideally Symology, Aurora and Street Manager
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to effectively collaborate across national projects
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify the root cause through data analysis
  • Previous experience covering a large region and managing a team of Street Works Advisors
