The essence of the role

As Operator Relations Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the Operator Relations Team in maintenance and development of current partnerships with Mobile Network Operators across the UK, Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. There will be a strong focus on reporting and analysis of commercial and operational performance, using your existing skills to drive insight and commercial opportunity from our data. You’ll be working closely with the global sales and operational teams to ensure local knowledge is built, shared and used throughout Sinch to win new business and grow existing clients. You will be an integral part of our Operator-facing commercial team, reporting to the Director of Operator Relations for UK and Ireland. You will be part of an experienced team of enterprise messaging experts in a company globally recognised as one of the most successful in our industry.

As our new Operator Relations Specialist you will:

  • Deliver and continuously input to the strategic plan for the region, based on insight driven through our data alongside insight from and changes in the market
  • Monitor, analyse and improve commercial performance with each of our Operator connections, keeping track of costs and invoices to identify cost saving opportunities and support invoice reconciliation
  • Support the management of new and existing operator relationships, as well as local/regional partners where required
  • Work closely with support teams to optimise customer experience and liaise with, escalate to and advise our Operator partners
  • Cooperate closely with our UK and Global sales teams. Operator Relations work hand in hand with our sales and product colleagues to ensure every commercial opportunity is explored and consideration made
  • Support the effective management of Operators in our territory consuming services such as SMS Firewalls, SMSC’s and SMSF. This will require a good understanding of the technical landscape and close working with virtual teams across Sinch and the Operator

As part of the UK and Ireland team the ideal candidate will be based alongside our colleagues within the UK with regular time spent in the London office.

Who are you?

We believe you have experience from the messaging or Mobile Network Operator world, alongside strong commercial acumen and technical aptitude. You are comfortable working with decision makers on all levels across product, support, technology and sales. As part of a small local team, yet larger global team, it’s important that you are a self-starter and comfortable in new situations, can work across different time zones when required, and can confidently reach out to new people for advice and support.

In order to contribute in this role you have:

  • existing experience from sales or other commercial roles towards mobile network operators, or from within a mobile network operator
  • strong analytical skills with developed data interpretation and presentation techniques
  • demonstrated commercial acumen
  • fluency in English

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have:

  • Experience with enterprise messaging
  • Experience with mobile or digital channels
  • Experience with SaaS
  • Understanding of industry technologies such as SMPP connectivity, SS7 networks and SMS Firewalls
  • Data analytics skills with programs such as Tableau
