The technical management of the Mobile Van Team within the Container Department, to drive through continuous improvement in performance, by engaging with relevant stakeholders that ensure the delivery of first class service in line with pre-defined business KPI’s, that support continuous improvement in productivity and quality of service provision, to maintain business growth and best in class performance. To provide its customers with well-presented and safe containers whilst minimising capital spend of new purchases.*** This is a remote role with travel nationally ***

- Ensuring container repair and health and safety standards are maintained to the highest level in the most cost-effective way
- Leading a team of mobile repair operatives, manage human resource to maximise performance, carry out line management functions relating to personnel issues, recruitment, performance and absence management. Ensuring work schedules are assigned and specific duties are resourced.
- Organise container documentation in accordance with company standards and legal requirements
- Ensure effective fault diagnosis by the team and subsequent rectification of defects (on location)
- Manage safety and legal compliance for the Mobile Container Repair Team
- Manager Quality Audits (supplier amp; Depot) and internal container stock audits to improve accuracy in reporting
- Responsible for the management and control of risk assessments and safe systems of work for the Mobile Container Repair Team
- Support improvement of the operational systems, processes and policies to support national growth and performance of the department
- Assist in the evaluation of new initiatives and strategic overviews of operations including management of projects and work with key stakeholders as defined by the parameters of the project.
Requirements
- Experience as Operations Manager or position of similar responsibility in Services or Logistics industry
- Plant/power tool operational knowledge
- Up to date knowledge of basic Hamp;S legislation and practice
- Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s
- Previous experience of maintaining and repairing waste handling equipment
- Previous experience of completing service and repair documentation and records to meet required standards
- A high level of aptitude with Microsoft software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated and target driven with the ability to work at pace
- A charismatic communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all level
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding role
- Ability to respond positively to on-going changes in a challenging and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel within the UK for business meetings and project work at other locations. This will incudes nights away from home
