About the role

Supporting the Head of Finance this is a chance for an ambitious Junior Accountant to own the day-to-day Finance (Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Bank Reconciliations) while also getting heavily involved in significant process improvement and system implementation projects. There will also be plenty of exposure to the Sales and the Customer Success teams providing Business Partner support and ad-hoc analysis.

With the growth planned over the next 3 years, the Finance team will be integral to the strategic scaling up of the business and offer a lot of opportunities to progress your career.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day Finance Operations of the business (owning Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Payroll, Expenses Management, Benefits)
  • Work with the Customer Success team to assist with billing queries
  • Managing the Credit Control function by working alongside the Sales and the Customer Success teams
  • Continuously improve processes and strive to automate and find efficiency gains where possible (Xero/Chargebee/Chartmogul)
  • Manage Bank Account and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Work closely with Sales teams to ensure effective customer onboarding from a Finance perspective (Chargebee)
  • Increasingly support the Head of Finance with month-end (accruals, prepayments, posting adjustments)
  • Assist with Year-End reporting
  • Work with the wider business on multiple ad-hoc projects (e.g. driving cost efficiencies, centralising IT storage etc)
  • Managing the procurement of equipment

Requirements

The skills, attributes and experience you must have:

  • 2+ years experience managing Credit Control, Purchase and Sales Ledger (Accounts Payable and Receivable) within a SAAS environment
  • Curious, proactive, and keen to solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Real desire to learn and progress quickly

Skills, attributes and experience it would be nice for you to have:

  • Active studier (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience working with Xero, Chargebee, Chartmogul or similar SAAS based platforms
  • Demonstratable experience of ‘going above and beyond’ and improving processes
  • Experience getting stuck into wider operational projects and process improvement
