Job Description
Vendor management is a dynamic discipline empowering an organisation to take appropriate measures for controlling cost, reducing potential risks, ensuring excellent service deliverability and deriving value from vendors in the long-run. This includes researching the best suitable vendors, sourcing and obtaining pricing information, gauging the quality of work, managing relationships in case of multiple vendors, evaluating performance by setting organisational standards.
As Starling Bank grows, your role as a Vendor Manager will be to ensure the continued successful partnership between Starling Bank and its vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Managing vendor relationships with service providers (Service Reviews, MI, Contractual's) throughout the full lifecycle
- Drive contract optimisation - service and price
- Drive vendor selection process partnering with the business in-line with policies and procedures
- Periodic and Initial Vendor Due Diligence and assurance activities providing constructive challenge; with internal reporting
- Proactive contract management across the whole vendor estate
- Foster strong working relationships with key Business functions: Technology, Legal, Risk, Finance, Operations, Engineering
- Working alongside peers across Technology and Operations, given distribution of third-party risk
- Development of Policy and Procedure
- Act as a point of escalation for the business in resolving service issues
- Provide support and guidance to the business on third-party engagements
- Ambassador for Vendor Management within Starling Bank
Requirements
- 3-4 year's professional experience in Vendor Management within Financial/Technology sectors, regulated environment an advantage
- Commercial acumen with a track record of reducing vendor spend and/or cost avoidance
- Strong risk awareness with working knowledge of relevant regulations: PRA Outsourcing, EBA Outsourcing, SYSC 8
- Discreet manner, ability to work independently
- Enthusiastic self-starter comfortable dealing with ambiguity
- Support a positive team working environment
- Degree Educated or qualified by experience
