We’ve worked on some of society’s and business’s most exciting challenges from building counter-terrorism software to protecting democracy from AI, we’re at the forefront of harnessing the power of AI. We are currently expanding our Health and Life Sciences (HLS) business unit, hiring a top-tier commercial and delivery capability to work alongside our technical team.

In the HLS team, we work with organisations from bench to bedside to improve patient outcomes and lower the cost of care. We’ve built and deployed national-scale AI tools to support NHS England mange hospital demand and scarce resources during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are supporting some of the world’s foremost biomedical researchers to use AI to speed up the rate of scientific discovery. And we are proud to be strategic partners of NHSX’s AI Lab.


The role

As a Senior Manager, you will be joining the Health and Life Sciences Sales amp; Delivery team at Faculty. This team works with organisations to embed AI into the way they work and solve their hardest problems. As part of the delivery leadership, you will have high levels of accountability for successfully delivering our hardest projects for senior teams in our largest clients. You’ll be at the forefront of the practical application of AI and a core part of growing our business, with existing accounts and supporting entry into new sectors.

The Senior Manger is responsible for successfully delivering to time and to budget. This means overseeing a multi-disciplinary team of Data Scientists, Designers, Engineers and Delivery specialists, and identifying areas for growth and expansion within your accounts.

This role does not require deep technical knowledge. Our data scientists will own the technical solution - you do not have to. But it does require enough understanding of data science techniques and their application in order to credibly communicate their function and value to the client, and to oversee their delivery. More generally, you will need to be a natural problem solver and enjoy working closely with technical teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivery management and oversight

  • Lead solution scoping and planning, by collaborating with Technical Leads and Principals to design AI applications which balance ambition, client value and feasibility.
  • Oversee delivery across a portfolio of projects, as a delivery leader you will be the senior point of contact for the client and Faculty teams day to day. You’ll know when to stay close or step back, pre-empt and manage risks and support Faculty teams to deliver our work to the highest level of quality.
  • Ensure the quality of client deliverables, independently from start to finish, pro-actively soliciting support from the wider organisation as required.
  • Lead communications and ongoing scope management, data science and AI is necessarily experimental, you’ll be responsible for guiding clients through projects constantly balancing scope to maximise client value while ensuring sustainability of delivery for teams and margins.

Business development

  • Manage and support account growth, by staying close to the priorities of customers, entrepreneurially identifying opportunities and supporting the management and execution of business development activities by creating compelling proposals and pitches for senior audiences.
  • Support new proposition development, using your industry expertise and AI knowledge to work with Faculty teams - across sales, product, technology and marketing - to support identification of new opportunity areas and lead delivery of targeted new proposition development.

Client relationships

  • Build trusted relationships. You are comfortable working senior stakeholders, building trust through delivery excellence and an increasing mastery of how AI can be put to work to solve our customers’ hardest problems.
  • Communicate clearly and credibly, in written and verbal form, an array of complex technical concepts, clearly
