Laka makes sure everything runs smoothly for the community: from exceptionally fast claims to splitting the cost fairly, guaranteeing a maximum price, and all the other heavy lifting of a regulated insurance business. For that service, the community pays Laka a fee.

We are growing fast and are expanding across segments, products and geographies. We started with Enthusiasts before expanding to Mobility and E-Mobility customers. Most recently, we expanded to Commercial customers and closed exciting partnerships in the food delivery amp; couriers space.
Yep, it's been a busy Q1 as we also launched in the Netherlands where we set up our European HQ in anticipation of our roll-out across continental Europe.
As it gets a lot busier for us on the claims side, we're looking for a Claims Recovery Handler with experience in subrogation claims.
Requirements
As a Claims Recovery Handler you will:
- Own the end-to-end process of subrogation claims, including identification amp; pursuit of the subrogation targets to maximise recovery opportunities for the Laka Collective
- Negotiate and settle subrogation claims
- Identify salvage opportunities
- Liaise with customers and partners throughout the recovery lifecycle
To make this position more varied, you will also:
- Help Laka members to file their liability claims, guide them through the process and liaise with our partners
- Investigate and report potentially fraudulent claims
- Support Laka members with general questions around Laka, their bicycle insurance, and new initiatives via webchat and email
To succeed in this role you will need to have:
- Relevant professional experience in the field of claims, a basic understanding of subrogation and salvage is desired and Recovery Claims experience is a clear advantage
- Analytical thinking and good negotiating skills
- Be comfortable chatting with our members and show excellent written English
- Have a good understanding of modern tools such as Google Suite (Sheets, etc), Slack, Notion, and other in-house applications
- Basic understanding of technical terms in cycling (we can bring you up to speed with the latest bike tech)
You might have already guessed it but it makes sense to be passionate about cycling when joining Laka. Don't worry about super detailed bike knowledge. We can teach you the ins and outs of insurance and skill you up on all things bike parts.
