We’re now recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Somerset site in Shepton Mallet on a permanent basis to undertake engineering tasks (EWR/PPMs/Breakdowns), ensuring a proactive approach to prevent equipment failure. You will contribute to the overall safe operation of plant and equipment, safety, quality, waste and OEE targets.

What's the mission?

Working as part of the Operations team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You’ll work on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic control systems and will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • A good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Apprentice trained Engineer to NVQ Level 3 standard in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience of electrical fault finding is essential
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics will be an advantage
  • Experience in fabrication and welding would also be beneficial
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience in mechanical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities
  • Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
  • Excellent level of English, oral and written
