StrongBox Data Solutions is looking for talented, self motivated individuals to join our expanding StrongLink software development team.
StrongLink brings the power of metadata and machine learning to autonomous data management at a crazy scale.
Our core products bend the limit of programming techniques to achieve performance and reliability rarely seen. We are a no-framework, no-sql, no-bloat, no-waterfall, no-locks, hyperthreaded, bare metal engineering team looking for like minded individuals to join us.

What will you be working on?
You will be part of a team that architects and develops a new platform for StrongBox Data Solutions that is able to reach unparalleled scale, performance, intelligence, and reliability in a complex data environment. This platform will become the launching point for the next set of the company's products and will stretch you to create learning models, advanced data analytics and other game changing production ready capabilities.
We offer a fully remote option during the Covid pandemic with an eventual need to work from the office once it ends. We provide a flexible work environment, with the possibility to work remotely from home 1 to 2 days post-COVID.
Requirements
- Legally allowed to work in Manchester, UK and post-Brexit
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
- Minimum 2years Java development in high performance data-oriented environments
- Proven experience in recreating, debugging, and fixing customer problems.
- Proven experience with LINUX.
- Hands-on with NoSQL database operations from Java
Good Additional Experience/Skills to have:
- Server-side API development using RESTful JSON web services.
- Proven experience using multiple repository git workflows.
- Proven desire to develop extensive complex testing around your work.
- Recent experience in an Agile Scrum based development organization using JIRA or equivalent.
- Comfortable in a CI/CD based workflow
- Track record of delivering value without constant supervision.
- Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on Kafka/Zookeeper or other modern messaging systems
