HR Advisor

Permanent, Full-time

PTW is looking for a skilled HR Advisor. You will be responsible for administrative tasks and you’ll contribute to making the company a better place to work. The goal will be to provide excellent assistance and support to the team, employees, and managers.

As the HR Advisor, you are to be the first point of contact for all HR-related items. You will support the employees up to Mid-level management on employment relation and engagement issues. You will collaborate with line management to accomplish HR-related tasks/projects and support in achieving company strategy/goals. As the HR Advisor, you should have a ‘can-do attitude, be organised, and manage your time efficiently.

This role would suit a competent HR Advisor/Generalist looking for a new opportunity or an experienced HR Assistant /HR Co-ordinator with experience of the following and would like more 'hands-on' responsibility.

Employee Relations

  • Provide support and advice on a full range of employee relations activities including performance management, absence management, discipline and grievance procedures, flexible working, and equal opportunities.
  • Attend and guide managers through the disciplinary and grievance process and to attend meetings to take minutes and to advise on the process for legally sound outcomes.
  • Attend family-friendly meetings i.e. maternity/ paternity interviews and ensure all relevant processes are completed.
  • Ensure that absence management procedures are followed with consistency across departments.
  • Manage an employee relations caseload efficiently and effectively, maintaining consistency across sites.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers on the interpretation and implementation of HR strategy, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Support the delivery of our diversity, equality, and inclusion programme.

HR Procedures

  • Working knowledge of an HRIS and ensuring that the information on the system is uploaded accurately and promptly.
  • To provide a comprehensive administrative HR Service
  • Preparing general human resources documents.
  • Ensure that the starter and leaver processes are correctly followed.
  • Work with the management team to coordinate internal staff changes and staff leavers.
  • Manage the HR inbox - responding and being the first point of contact.
  • Coach and assist front-line managers.
  • Highlighting and escalating any complex situations to the Line Manager
  • Collate management reports for the European HR Team.
  • Contribute to the improvement of processes and methods of operating practices.
  • Assist with projects.
  • Staff Audit monitoring and performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
  • Conduct and handle DSE and Occupational Health referrals

Pay and Reward.

  • Notify payroll promptly of any employee changes such as promotions, maternity/paternity leave, sabbaticals, etc.
  • Support the processing of the monthly payroll, ensuring that all data processed is accurate for final submission.
  • Assist the management team with the annual salary review process.

Other

  • Adhere to company Security, Confidentiality, and Health and Safety procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
  • Adhere to the company IT and HR procedures and ensure the compliance of the team.
  • Understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • Ideally 2-3 years’ experience within a HR generalist position.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law.
  • Experience managing and processing a monthly payroll.
  • Experience in managing a varied workload in a high-volume environment with the ability to prioritise your work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; the ability to deal with all levels of colleagues and stakeholders professionally, confidently, and politely.
