Job Description
We are currently looking for an Import Export Manager to come and join the expanding team here at Veterinary Instrumentation (a Covetrus company).
You will work across the VI business to identify gaps, improve processes and provide expert knowledge in terms of import and export requirements to global geographies. The role will be expected to manage the changing requirements of new markets, Brexit, and the systems we use to ensure compliance and develop robust processes and templates enabling us to transact in an efficient and compliant way.
Role and Responsibilities:- Directly responsible for the compliance processes and procedures of UK export, transits, UK import, and temporary exports including the preparation and processing of corresponding documentation that is required by our fast parcel supply chain
- Problem solving and proactively managing and helping to develop the compliance of the entire customs process across VI
- Manual production of required documents for our new supply chains
- Ownership of commodity code, country of origin and incoterms
- Management of controlled shipments and their required documentation
- Development and ownership of work instructions in relation to import and export
- Own master data in system in terms of Country of Origin, invoice layouts, packing lists, commodity codes
- Work with Procurement to obtain necessary information from our supply chain in terms of country of origin, commodity code, and any tariffs
- Review of commodity codes explore whether binding commodity codes should be applied
- Manage requirements on Brexit as they change throughout 2021 / 2022 and ensure necessary changes are communicated and implemented within VI
You
- 3+ years experience in an import / export related field
- Working knowledge of customs and tariffs
- Knoweldge of Incoterms 2020
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- A professional qualification in International Trade ie. ITOPS, IoE
- Knowledge of ERP systems - Sage 200 would be advantageous
- Continuous improvement qualifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or above
- Experience of working with global supply chains including mainland EU warehouse solutions
