Matrix’s mission is to make messaging as open as email allowing everyone to choose where their data is hosted, enjoy private conversations thanks to advanced encryption, and ultimately be in control of their own communication.
Matrix powers Element, our flagship messaging apps for the web, iOS amp; Android, along with Element Matrix Services (EMS), our SaaS platform for personal amp; professional use.

We’re looking for a Talent Partner /Technical Recruiter with a strong understanding of cutting edge recruitment practices and sourcing strategies to join our growing People team in this newly created role.
Our candidates are mission driven individuals and many do not respond to traditional recruitment methods. Working in close partnership with the wider business, you’ll use your deep technical hiring expertise to plan, develop, and implement innovative sourcing strategies to help us to attract the very best global engineering talent to Element.

What you’ll do
In your first month:
You’ll spend time learning about who we are and what makes us a fun and interesting company.
You’ll partner on research and delivery over the whole tech stack adding value wherever you already have experience and learning wherever you don’t
You’ll build and maintain candidate pipelines on our core volume hiring needs with a strong focus on diversity.
In your first three months:
You’ll have defined a personal growth and development plan which you find exciting
You’ll have contributed in a meaningful way toward growing and defining key aspects of the Talent and People function that align with your specific interests
You’ll have had the opportunity to work on roles over the whole stack and feel comfortable
In your first year:
You’ll have significantly contributed to the headcount growth as we scale

Other things we’ll do together:
Prioritise building a diverse team at every step of the hiring process. Provide candidates of all backgrounds with equal, unbiased consideration and opportunity.
Champion an exceptional candidate experience, partnering closely with Hiring Managers and the People team.
Drive the full cycle recruitment process for engineering hires and have a hands-on approach to attracting, assessing and on-boarding the best talent.
Ensure that all candidates leave feeling supported, informed and inspired.
Ensuring a high level of data integrity with our ATS (Workable).
Requirements
2-3 yrs+ experience as a full cycle recruiter ideally gained at a fast growing start up.
You understand why diverse teams are important and have a keen interest in learning how to implement, and champion practices and programs for increasing diversity in hiring processes.
You are very enthusiastic about candidate experience and ensuring that the employer brand is outstanding.
You are a skilled interviewer and can effectively and confidently assess candidates for role and culture fit.
You are resilient and adaptable and comfortable with the ambiguities of working in a start-up environment.
