Working across global clients including eBay, Spotify, Under Armour, Farfetch and Trainline.
The Design Director will become a key part of the Creative amp; Experience leadership team, a global function within Jellyfish with over 400+ designers, copywriters, animators, Creative Directors and technologists. You will be working with teams to deliver digital marketing campaigns across all digital platforms with a focus on Mobile and App Store Optimization.
As a design leader, you will be passionate about leading digital projects that combine data-led insights and captivating creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all work is of an exceptionally high standard, in-line with best practice and delivered on time
- Oversee all design output across the Mobile product (App Store, GAC, Display amp; Social)
- Deliver strategic solutions, helping to develop the Mobile product and support wider business objectives
- Drive commercial success within the department; review the profitability of design work, the utilisation of the team and explore opportunities to win more business
- Contribute in pitches and define project scopes based on internal production times
- Act as a key representative within the Creative amp; Experience network; attending/presenting in meetings and supporting/leading initiatives
- Manage key Mobile Product clients, leading App Store optimisation projects from beginning to end (creating timelines, brainstorming ideas, developing concepts, building final assets, testing designs and reporting on findings)
- Run quantitative and qualitative tests to assess the performance of App Store creative (A/B testing, surveys)
- Design outstanding GAC, Display and Social creative, with an understanding of best practice for key advertising platforms
- Mentor, support and inspire designers within the Mobile Product, offering expert advice and delivering constructive feedback when needed
- Seek to understand the levels of skills and knowledge across the team and develop learning pathways to fill any gaps
- Set best practices in terms of design system, documentation, filing and workflow
- Support the team’s scalability through documentation and process improvement
- Recruit and hire new talent to join the growing team
- Research competitors, trends, patterns and best-practices, visual design inspiration and industry insights
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience in a senior design role, specifically within the digital marketing industry
- Advanced knowledge of multiple areas across the industry line, including social, display and app
- Solid leadership skills, with experience in growing and managing a design team
- Strong and compelling vision for what good design / creative looks and feels like
- Passionate and persuasive presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire
- Expertise shaping design direction through iterative testing and evaluation
- Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Solutions-focused mindset, with a proactive approach to problem solving
- High level of proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma, with an understanding of HTML capabilities
- Excellent portfolio of visual design work, from concept through to delivery
- Open, honest and comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback
