We are looking for a Ruby Developer to join our team. You will be supported by our development team that is highly experienced with the majority of developers having 7+ years of professional software experience. We work with a high degree of autonomy, building tools and solutions for a wide range of business problems that get applied and tested in real life by people we work with.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineer at ForwardPMX your main responsibilities will be:

• Work across a wide range of web technologies, backend and frontend
• Work with team to design and implement new features and services for the product
• Provide production support, system diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Ensure long-term quality, scalability and maintainability of the system and our open-source libraries
• Support of our dev-ops culture

Quality is key for us, so you will ensure all product components are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (alpha/beta/production), deliver products using the appropriate level of testing and monitoring, fail fast, and learn and iterate frequently.

Requirements

This role is ideal for somebody who wants to work on a big variety of web technologies but also not afraid to step out and challenge themself and learn how to support high scalability systems, event-driven architectures, serverless.
You will be part of a growing team that is always open to new ways of working.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about product quality and adoption and has a natural drive to deliver quality products with great documentation in a timely manner.

the Essential

• You care deeply about developer experience
• In-depth knowledge of at least one programing language (Ruby preferable)
• Good understanding of web technologies,
• Operational experience in utilising the systems available at Amazon Web Service
• A natural passion for delivering a quality product
• Ability to work independently, effectively and efficiently
• Being hands-on with code in developing our products using best practices, appropriate tools and technologies

In addition to

• Ability to pick up new technologies and languages by having a play
• Experience with DevOps practices
• Some experience with JavaScript and JS framework (React)
• Manipulating high volumes of data from many remote sources
• Experience in different languages than Ruby and other programming paradigms (Functional, Event-Driven)
