About the Fraud Department
We are expanding our online fraud team in the North West, covering all sides of fraud, from Awareness and Prevention to Detection and Resolution, across all our geographies. Analysts, Agents, Investigators and Management all sit together and work on the most effective ways to combat fraud at The Hut Group.
The team interacts with almost every other team in the business; there is never a dull moment. Overall Purpose of Role You will have a strong background in fraud/intelligence and brand protection.
You will be a confident and assertive decision maker with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. This position focuses on Brand Protection threats including, but not limited to OSINT, financial crime, money laundering, claims, and Investigations.
Responsibilities
- Work with large, complex datasets through the whole process of collation through to analysis;
- Identify and monitor social media platforms and other forums for unauthorised resellers of THG’s products and sellers using THG’s intellectual property/copyright together with identifying any counterfeit products and taking immediate remedial action where appropriate.
- Develop relationships with platforms, hosts, registrars and other third parties to improve efficiency in dealing with takedown requests, finding new and innovative ways to better protect THG’s brands;
- Monitoring online marketplaces, B2C sites for counterfeit products, B2B abuse, reporting offending sites/listings for removal and online investigations.
- Monitor and automate activity on open source, social media, deep web, and other sources on a daily basis and report findings at a national and international level;
- Undertake test purchases of suspected counterfeit products online and/or from shops/markets and authenticating suspected unauthorised sales.
Requirements
- 1+ years professional experience in a Brand Protection/Investigation role;
- Anti-piracy, brand protection or intellectual property experience;
- Knowledge of internet technologies and networks;
- Familiarity with intellectual property law and grey market issues;
