Annual Salary: 18,000 - 21,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Founded in 2010 Twinkl is a young, ambitious, and rapidly growing educational publisher founded with a single mission, to help those who teach. We’ve built the largest bank of teacher-created digital learning materials in the UK, and are quickly becoming established as one of the largest digital educational publishers in the world.

As Twinkl’s new Business Development Executive you’ll be joining a growing B2B team that focuses on building strong and fruitful relationships with schools. This particular position has a focus on International School Chains as we look to better understand the needs of multi-academy trusts in Spain, the UAE, and beyond. You’ll be the first person on the team to focus solely on international chains, which presents an excellent opportunity to be involved at every stage of the business development process, from research, strategy and stakeholder mapping, through to outreach, relationship building and conversion.

So, what kind of person are we looking for? We believe that strong relationships bear the most fruit, advocating a consultative, needs-based approach to business development. As such, we’re not looking for a hard seller, but someone who will take the time to understand the amazing value Twinkl can offer to schools and use this to fuel conversations with key decision-makers.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Mapping out school chains in our key international growth markets, conducting research on different educational systems, and identifying key contacts.
  • Building your network through a mixture of cold and warm outreach using email, phone, and video calls.
  • Having conversations with decision makers at school chain procurement level - you’ll become an expert at understanding the needs of the school and communicating the Twinkl value proposition.
  • Working closely with team members in the wider school's business development team to share information, successes, and best practices.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • Be an excellent communicator, with the ability to establish, build and develop a rapport over email, phone, and video call.
  • Be passionate about education and contributing to a missional business.
  • Have a good understanding of different sales and marketing techniques - if you’re coming from a role in a different sector or industry then an eagerness to learn, develop and absorb information is essential!

You’ll work with:

Due to exponential growth, the size of our teams have significantly increased. In 2018, we had just under 600 people. As of now, the company employs over 1000 team members! Your team in particular is a team of 25, focusing in a number of different areas, such as international business development, UK business development, amongst many others.

Leading our school business development team is Lee Hilton Brammer, and Danielle Heathen will guide you through the international school chain market.
