Job Description

A global financial services firm currently requires DC Pensions Technical Consultant to join them on a permanent basis. This role can be based from any of the following offices; London, Manchester, Bristol or Edinburgh, but this is a fully remote role so you can be based anywhere in the UK. • As a Technical Consultant based in our Technical, Research amp; Investment team, you will be responsible for supporting your Workplace Savings colleagues in relation to technical issues on their contract-based DC clients. This is typically a non-client facing role providing central technical support. This includes:
  • Review of new legislation and relevant industry consultations, and assisting with the production of legislation updates for external clients and colleagues.
  • Production of member communication material which can cover a broad range of pension topics, and in particular, salary exchange.
  • Assist with the production of detailed technical guides for use with external clients and/or colleagues.
  • Dealing with ad-hoc technical queries.
  • Provide support to the Workplace Savings business in relation to technical issues.
  • Be seen as trusted support to your colleagues in the Workplace Savings business.
  • Adhere to processes, procedures and compliance standards.
  • Meet all reasonable client and internal deadlines.
  • Meet all agreed communication protocols.
  • Ensure accuracy in all aspects of work and record keeping.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a pensions consultant with a bias towards the technical aspects of pensions, ideally in the contract-based Defined Contribution (‘DC’) market.
  • Qualified or studying for the Pensions Management Institute examinations or other relevant qualifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Good presentation and writing skills, and proficient in the use of Word and Powerpoint.
  • Must be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to providing high quality service to clients through the central services and support provided by the Technical Research and Investment team.
  • Must be proactive, willing to undertake thorough research into technical issues and have the ability to analyse details.
  • Experience of working with clients on automatic enrolment and dealing with the Pensions Regulator when required would be an advantage.
