We are a friendly, creative and well-funded startup building robots for the restaurant and food industries and we’re having a lot of fun along the way. Our teams work across robotics, mechatronics, software and down into embedded systems.

What will you do?

As the VP of Business Development, you’ll be responsible for increasing revenues, driving business expansion, building strategic partnerships and making decisions on the development of our business and products.

You will work closely with our CEO to identify new opportunities for our company on a global basis. You will be building strategic relationships with new and future customers, understanding their problems and working with our development team to find innovative solutions.



You’ll be accountable for:

  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Understanding the needs of our customers and creating plans of how to meet these.
  • Fostering meaningful relationships with customers/clients
  • Thinking and working strategically, setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve our business as well as carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes.
  • Developing and closing client contracts
  • Ensuring the internal team is on-board throughout the organisation, and understand the need for change and what is required of them
  • Growing and training a team
  • Developing promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  • Representing Karakuri at seminars, conferences and events.
  • Keeping abreast of trends and changes in all aspects of Hospitality and Catering

Requirements

What we need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales-related fields of study, including at least 5 years in client relationship management, professional services, business development, team leadership, or B2B sales
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Ability to grow and maintain a relationship with any individual.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative and a critical thinker
  • Ability to work with recent technological applications relating to daily tasks
  • Strong detail-orientation and top-level self organisation
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to put in more working hours.
  • Possess a reliable problem-solving ability
