Job Description

The Ministry of Defence are seeking a Project Co-Ordinator to join their team in Portsmouth. Some working from home is possible.

Team: Ministry of Defence|MOD Core|Navy Command|DCNS|ACNS [Spt]

Initial contracts will run until 31/03/2023 and offer a rate up to 373/day.

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Inside IR35 legislation. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

This role requires Active SC (Security Check) clearance. Applicants require active SC clearance or the willingness to go through clearance before starting on site. Candidates with current clearance will be preferred.

The Role

The post holder provides support to the CPMS project for Defence Marine Services, as part of a small, dedicated high performing team. The post is primarily responsible for stakeholder coordination and communication, organising and supporting governance meetings, generating accompanying documentation, and ensuring resources across DMS are engaged to support the needs of CPMS, including liaising with the technical delivery team and future projects team to deliver on project workstreams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide planning input to Project meetings and capture and track outcomes to conclusion.
  • Provide planning information in most beneficial format to support project requirements.
  • To report to the Pj Del Mgr any anticipated delays in delivery, issues with dependency deliverables or critical path delays.
  • To act as the plans continuity focal point providing the interface with key stakeholders.
  • Liaising with SQEP staff, input into the risk, benefits and MDAL registers to enable formulation of the Evidence Working Group reports.
  • Update project registers and ensure data consistency across workstreams.
  • To ensure that assumptions are gathered and recorded throughout the life of the project with the relevant cost and time detail applied to the relevant stage or phase of the project.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in similar role
  • Experience in scheduling
  • Experience within MOD is desirable
  • APM/Prince 2 qualification is desirable

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 General visas are cannot be accepted. This role requires that candidates be willing to undergo BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland).
