The team and roleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Cash Flow Manager to join Bulb's Finance Planning amp; Analysis team, at the strategic heart of one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies.
At Bulb, FPamp;A is not just budgeting and reporting, it's also strategy. We are looking for someone who can build accurate, thoughtful forecasts, but also questions what we should be building and why. We need someone who can communicate with stakeholders around the business to diagnose problems, then use their analytical skills to solve them.
Our cash flow forecast is hugely important to ensure the financial security of the organisation and to ensure we are able to support our growth plans. Reflecting the importance of the roles, you will have regular exposure to the leadership team from Day 1.
Key responsibilities*Take ownership of Bulb’s group cash flow forecast - This will involve a project to restructure the current model, including consideration of whether to move from Excel to a system *Build cash flow forecasts for new international entities *Create weekly cash flow forecast variance analysis for CEO, CFO and the Senior Leadership Team, and monthly cash flow variance analysis per entity *Work with stakeholders, especially the Head of Treasury, around the business to ensure the assumptions and projections in your forecast are accurate *Review actual cash flows and highlight risks and opportunities e.g. opportunities to improve our working capital management *Continually improve our forecasting methodologies and process
Must have skills*Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) *Strong Excel modelling - can build complex financial models that can be understood by stakeholders around the business *Extremely strong critical thinking and attention to detail - you will be responsible for making sure we have enough cash to fund our business, we need the numbers to stand up!*Great project management skills - you need to be able to work with stakeholders at all levels of the business to get their forecasts on time and make sure they align with each other *Strong communication skills and confident working with stakeholders across the business including CEO and senior leadership *Team player: you see your work as part of the team’s overall plan, and within that, you’re happy either driving your own project or supporting team members with theirs *Ownership mentality: don't just execute what's asked of you, but question whether we've asked you the right question or if it could be done a better way *Can-do attitude: Bulb is a fast-paced environment, you need to be resilient and calm under pressure *Interest in improving processes and implementing systems - as Bulb grows, our financial models will become too complex for Excel (to be honest they already are!)
