How we work

We focus on developing the best application for our customers and don't cut costs - quality is essential to everything we do, working software that always works! Alongside our phenomenal team we use many contemporary tools such as AWS, GitHub, Circle CI, New Relic, to name a few. Our approach to code is simple, keep it clean and ensure it has good test coverage. We don't ship code just to hit a deadline. At Smart Pension you will work collaboratively with experienced developers who will review your code and you will review their code, everyone is treated equal with a PR. This approach has helped us maintain at least 96% test coverage of our application meaning we can focus on features rather than bug fixing.

What you will do

As technical programme manager,

  • Your focus will be on managing (infrastructure-) platform and (application-) security initiatives
  • You will lead and coordinate multiple technical work streams across different teams and departments enabling design and architectural decisions
  • The challenge is to work effectively with deeply technical people and non-technical stakeholders across different time zones
  • Therefore, you need to have a technical background and mindset as it is crucial to understand the dependencies, risks and opportunities and required prioritisation of your projects across teams
  • You will be working with business and software engineering teams to translate business objectives to technical requirements and vice versa, clarify scope and prioritise work
  • You will facilitate and support the roadmap planning process, ensure that business goals are in met and at the same time champion your teams initiatives to the business
  • Project management skills are a must, you may need to bridge between agile processes and traditional project management
  • You will use and further enhance agile/lean metrics to increase confidence and predictability of your project deliveries in collaboration with our agile leads
  • You will establish a reporting framework that will provide transparency of our running and upcoming initiatives
  • You will proactively invest in continuous improvements in planning, communication and enable data-driven decisions
  • You will help us to establish product management practices for platform considerations
