Right now developers in the crypto industry have a problem: everything is built on Solidity, a programming language and set of tools entirely unsuitable for building Decentralised Finance. So while Decentralised Finance has grown to over $121Bn under management in less than two years (yes, really), it has still had over $285m worth of hacks over the same period. The majority of these hacks can be traced back to problems with the main builder tool: Solidity.
This means that today DeFi App developers spend huge amounts of time securing their code, and very little time actually inventing new stuff. At Radix, we thought that should change.
We are looking for a Head of Developer Ecosystem to create and implement the community rollout of a groundbreaking new programming language built specifically to serve Decentralised Finance. We see this as a way of giving DeFi developers a 10x advantage - making the build, test, iterate cycles much shorter, massively reduce security issues, and help get new developers from DeFi curious to DeFi competent quickly and effectively.
You will be responsible for building a community and ecosystem of developers and DeFi applications builders that support, educate and help each other to succeed using Radix as the enabling technology for their success.
Radix is building to be a developer-first platform. Everything we have done to date in building our technology has been informed by our long work in the crypto space, as well many discovery calls with the leading Decentralised Finance Developers and projects.
This is your chance to help write an entirely new chapter around what is possible with community driven financial applications and decentralised finance. It will be your job to inspire and help the people that come and join our community realise their full potential on Radix.
You will begin by learning all there is to know about our planned developer experience, our platform roadmap, and our vision. You will also get to know our current community of intrepid Radixers, many newly-drawn to Radix as a solution to Ethereum’s visible problems, some who have followed our founder for over 7 years of Ramp;D. Then, drawing upon your well of know-how, you will formulate a practical, concrete community strategy closely linked with our product and marketing strategies for the second half of 2021, 2022 and beyond. With the rest of the senior management team at Radix you will help plan the first look the community will get of our developer tools, and the best ways to build momentum, believers and success from that point forward.
This will not be easy - so much of the future of this industry is still unwritten - but it might be the world's most interesting and ambitious challenge in developer ecosystem building today.
At Radix, we're a team of like-minded thinkers who have long been convinced that we're living in the earliest stages of a global financial revolution. This revolution is being fuelled by decentralized finance (or DeFi for short), which is enabling an assortment of pioneering developers and entrepreneurs to re-invent almost every financial product that is currently traded and invested in traditional markets, without requiring central authorities or siloed infrastructure. DeFi has captured a great deal of attention and investment in the crypto-aware niche, growing assets under
