Location: Cardiff (Remote working at first)

Salary: 25,000 to 30,000 pa

What You’ll do

Working alongside our Head of People you will assist driving the internal culture, attracting the best talent throughout the UK and ensure that our people can do their best work and love what they do. You’ll craft environments which enable our people to help our clients connect people and technology to create a positive change.

Employees are at the heart of our business and your role is to help keep them engaged. No two days are the same and you’ll be used to working at a fast pace. Typical tasks include responding to employee queries, internal communications, employee administration, managing employee relations cases, arranging internal events, owning the data within our HR system and ensuring it's up to date and accurate, running new starter onboarding sessions and exit interviews. This is a real generalist role, with the opportunity to learn and grow.

Who you’ll be working with

From day one you will become part of the People team, You will work closely with Gareth and Matt, our Recruitment wizards, this role is to replace Lucy, our People Adviser who is going on maternity leave. It’s a close-knit team that’s delivered great things and you’ll become part of continuing that journey.

You’ll report to our Head of People, Helen, who cares deeply about our internal culture and the people here at DevOpsGroup. We are all part of the wider BizOps function, so you’re also likely to interact daily with our COO, Ops Manager and Internal Engineer too.

Even though this is your direct team, you’ll be interacting with everyone across the business at various points, including members of the Executive, engineers, client success managers and various other internal teams.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who can

  • Has experience within HR administration and are looking to develop your skill set into a People Co-ordinator.
  • Ownership of the HRIS, ensuring the data is accurate and up to date.
  • Get the basics right, strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Work with multiple stake holders across the business and build trust and confidence.
  • Work with the Head of People by taking ownership to deliver elements of the people initiatives.
  • Has understanding of payroll, and has ideally worked with finance to ensure information is passed across in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement People initiatives in line with organisational objectives.
  • Support the Head of people with implementation of the People strategy that supports the entire business.
  • Contribute to long-term goals around business and people development.
  • Supporting and running sessions on company wellbeing, health and counselling policies
  • Analysis of employee feedback and data, with the aim of creating a better working environment and engaged culture.
  • Run onboarding sessions and onboarding logistics, and have experience of being a point of contact for new starters.
  • Effectively advise and guide line managers through people related issues such as disciplinary, grievance and absence management processes
  • Lead benefits renewal administration process, and ensure our benefits are up to date and competitive.
  • Run exit interviews and then analyse the data and pull out trends.
  • Review people budgets, including travel to ensure they are within spent
  • Arranging and supporting company events.
  • Supporting and facilitating the return to the office and office admin.


The skills you’ll need

  • Organisational skills personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are key.
  • Communication skills the ability to speak confidently to multiple stakeholders and write engaging employee comms. Strong emotional intelligence, the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others is vital.
