Our background and your main purpose.

Ruroc make badass helmets Enginehawk makes badass jackets. As a group Ruroc and Enginehawk’s mission is to save lives on and off the bike. Both brands focus on creating the perfect balance between design and engineering to ensure our products save lives, look epic and set us apart from the competition. In 2019, Ruroc had our first $1m turnover day, in 2020 it had its first $1m turnover hour and in 2021 we had our first ever $1m turnover half an hour! Ruroc has grown from $1m rev to a $30m+ revenue Action / Motorsports brand selling into over 90 countries globally from our single distribution centre in Gloucester and we are primed ready to dominate an industry that has been stagnant for too long! The Enginehawk brand officially launches in April 2021 and is expected to match the growth and success that Ruroc has seen.

The brands, recently been backed by VC firm BGF with 7m, are completely D2C. All sales take place through our eCommerce stores www.ruroc.com and www.enginehawk.com giving us a direct connection with our customers that legacy / competitor brands do not possess. This close connection to the end rider has given us the ability to reduce the feedback loop and rapidly innovate and enhance our gear at a rate never seen before in the Global protective gear industry.

We control our destiny; we manage everything end-to-end to deliver our promise to customers and fulfil the potential of the brands. We are building world-class teams across the board and in 2021 we are investing in enhancing our supply chain with our own helmet factory to keep up with our ever-snowballing demand.

Reporting to Ruroc’s Production Manager, you will film content whilst working to the Brand vision and style throughout shoot. You will make video concepts come to life, through exceptional skills in lighting, camera work and model direction. You will be working on various types of deliverables, including social media posts, campaign promotional videos and documentaries with famous athletes / celebrities for our YouTube channel. You will need to be able to work to short deadlines, and be able to travel around the world at short notice.

You will be working inside our in-house agency built up of CGI, Video, Graphic and Image execs to deliver creative assets that engages our target audience and develops an emotional connection with them. You will be working closely with a team of creators to create innovative concepts / ideas for campaigns that will be used across our commercial pillars (Product, Brand, Marketing, Trading, Operations).

Main Accountabilities
  • Create video assets for the brand, particularly for delivery on social media channels Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Stories amp; TikTok.
  • Ensure our video production is kept in-fashion and we are using the most up to date techniques and trends for lighting, angles, set design etc. always keeping within Ruroc’s brand guidelines.
  • Have a strong eye and understanding of what looks good.

Requirements

This role is for you if.

KEY SKILLS

  • Technical knowledge and active interest in cinematography in cinema and audio equipment Alexa Mini, Blackmagic Cinema Cameras / Sony FS7's etc / Audio Equipment Field recorders / Microphones / Lapels.
  • A deep understanding of how people consume, share, and engage with digital content as well as having a strong sense of narrative / storytelling
  • Knowledge and interest in lighting for commercials - Interior / Exterior. Fluent in Premiere Pro
  • Adobe Premiere and After Effects advanced editing skills.
  • Understanding of what ‘looks good’ and an understanding of the Ruroc brand and target audience
  • Exceptional creative ability and can make the right calls with rationale when required.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and remain calm under pressure. Remaining proactive rather than reactive, always.
  • Ability to follow creative direction whilst also thinking outside the box.
