Job Description

With over 6 million books sold in over 150 countries, Wonderbly is the world's leading personalised books company. We are immensely proud to have recently been awarded Children’s Publisher of the Year at the British Book Awards. It shows us just how far we’ve come since our beginning, and proves to us that it has all been worthwhile.

We’re a dynamic, creative, and commercially-driven business with a big and bold mission - to bring people closer together through the power of personalisation. Our legacy is in the children's space. For the past seven years we’ve created uncompromisingly high-quality personalised books to inspire courage, curiosity and kindness in children all over the world. In the past year we have started to diversify our meaningfully personalised books beyond children and into broader ages, relationships and gifting occasions.

In so many ways, our journey is just beginning. Having established ourselves as leaders in the children's space, we are building a global personal-publishing business that brings the power of meaningful personalisation into the hearts and homes of everyone in the world.

Exciting times ahead!

Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced product manager to look after internally designed and built systems that help us create and sell our beautiful, meaningful personalised books to millions of happy customers all over the world.

Our growing portfolio of internal tools empower a diverse mix of creatives, technologists and operational specialists to create and ship ever richer products on more physical formats. As we look ahead over the next few years, we see a huge opportunity to pull these systems and processes in a way that can generate enormous value for our customers, the Wonderbly team and our partners.

We need someone who intuitively understands the transformative power the right tool can have on a team. Someone who can engage with teams across the business to understand their needs and ways of working. Someone who can help to create new tools and processes and ultimately take them to new places.

We have plans to double the size of Wonderbly as a business. This is why the role is such a critical hire. We’re already a company with global reach, but still small enough that individuals can make a huge contribution. Our recent acquisition by Graphite Capital is a critical step in our mission to put one of our personalised products in the home of everyone in the world.

You will be one of the founding members of a new squad within Wonderbly, reporting to the CTO. You’ll be helping to establish this team, its mission and the priorities. Jumping into the unknown where the boundaries are not set should excite you.

As with all product work, this is a multidisciplinary role and we want to hear from people with diverse backgrounds. You may have started your career in engineering, design consulting or a commercial role or maybe something completely different. Either way, we want to hear from you.

What we’d like to see from you

  • A solid understanding of the software development process and trade-offs required to ship in a small team, gained through direct experience
  • Keen eye for process, gained from careful observation and feedback and ability to describe new and better ways of working that solve real problems
  • Ability to work autonomously, identify own work, influence peers and communicate plans clearly in person and through documentation
  • Ability to gather momentum within company towards a new vision that you have conceived of
  • A good understanding of at least one other discipline - analysis, interface design or engineering
  • A passion for bringing to life uniquely personalised and meaningful products

To apply for this role please provide a CV and a covering letter of no more than 600 words that outlines why you love making software that solves real problems. We’d also love you to include a link to a book that has inspired you at some point in your life.

Benefits

First and foremost you should join Wonderbly because of the work. We’re on a mission to inspire boundless self belief in every child, everywhere through our beautiful personalised books.

  • Salary of up to 60,000 p/a
  • We have a flexible, hybrid working model that you can tailor to suit what works best for you. From September onwards we're asking our staff to come into our lovely light filled East London studio at least two days a week and then to choose what works best for them for the rest of the time. We're open to any working model that helps you do great work and connect best with our mission.
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Regular Yoga classes and mental health support
  • Personal training allowance
  • 28 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays
  • Health insurance to keep you in tip-top shape
