Job Description

PIRATE.COM

At Pirate, we’re on a mission to make creative space available to all. Through our 24 hour, self-service Rehearsal, DJ, Recording, Podcast and Dance Studios, we’re empowering the next generation of creatives. As one of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, this is a great opportunity to join the team and help us as we take our mission global.

Senior UX/UI Designer

We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer, with strong e-commerce experience to join our Bristol based Product team. If you are a creative design-thinker who loves working through all stages of the design process, from deep user research to rapid ideation and iteration, wireframing, UX flows, information architecture, user testing, all the way through to pixel-perfect delivery, this role is for you.

A day in the life of...

Day-in, day-out you can expect to:

  • Work cross-functionally to gather requirements, conduct user research, propose solutions to test and report back
  • Craft beautiful UI elements and contribute to our wider design system
  • Analyse insight and data to inform your design, confidently articulating the thinking that underpins your work
  • Conceive new products, features and experiences, whilst improving on existing ones too!

Our ideal candidate champions design thinking and is all over the latest industry trends and best practices and will guide and mentor more junior designers whilst doing their own top-tier design work. They are the advocates of a user-centric approach and confident interrogating data to craft useful digital product experiences by intimately understanding the needs of our customers. They will collaborate daily with product owners and tech experts, taking everyone on the journey with them, welcoming feedback at every turn.

Skills amp; experience we need

  • Exceptional core UX skills including research, personas, problem-discovery, requirements gathering, information architecture, user flows, wireframing, prototyping, testing etc.
  • Strong E-commerce experience in both web and native app, including proficiency in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, Data Studio and similar.
  • Excellent UI design ability also, and experience working with design systems.
  • Devising novel user testing methodologies and writing discussion guides.
  • Working within an Agile / Scrum squad.
  • Ability to write highly performant UX copy is a bonus.

In Return

As we grow, we are overhauling our booking journey. This is your place to imagine new ways to access and interact with our spaces in the digital and physical domains, all with a view to giving artists the space and tools they need to make the best work of their lives. We are offering full-time employment, paying between 50-60k based on experience, extra holidays up to 28 days per year + public holidays and paid sick leave, flexible working (2 days in the office, the rest from home), paid training, discounted studio hours and more.

Equal for all

Our team is made up of many nationalities and equal opportunity is hugely important to us across all areas of Pirate Studios. We treat individuals fairly, in accordance with the law regardless of age, disability, gender, pregnancy and maternity, marital status, race, religion or sexual orientation.
