RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of month end journals for key areas of the business
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations in particular for Wholesale customer balances
  • Customer account administration tasks including sending invoices to customers and raising credit notes for Wholesale customers.
  • Prepare and review selected monthly head office cost centre reports, identifying and explaining key variances
  • Maintain a good dialogue with the business area own of cost centres to achieve complete/accurate view of accruals/prepayments, explanation of variances, budget risks
  • Assist with the year end statutory audit
  • Various other ad-hoc duties within the finance department and in particular Wholesale team

Specific areas of responsibility may be reviewed and rotated from time to time within the team to achieve a continuous development environment, increase knowledge of accounting procedures or cost centres.

Requirements

  • In professional training with at least 24 months accounting experience with at least 6 months in a similar management accounts role (preferably retail)
  • Willingness to challenge processes and costs incurred with senior head of departments
  • Motivated individual with good attention to detail
  • To be able to work independently to investigate variances and new accounting processes
  • Enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills
