Job Description

Location: Scotland, work from home, or Twinkl HQ, Sheffield, UK

Contract: 12 month fixed term, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: 24,000 - 30,000 per annum

Do you have a vision for supporting teaching and learning across Scotland? Have you worked closely with children? Do you know all about how to spread the word on social media? We’re looking for an ambitious and proactive person to support the ongoing development and growth of our Scotland Parents community.

You'll be joining the Scotland-based Twinkl team with additional support from leaders at Twinkl HQ in the U.K. You'll start off with a strong focus on marketing, connecting with customers directly via a variety of different communication channels to highlight and demonstrate the benefits of Twinkl Scotland’s Parents products and resources. You'll be moving into this position as a team of one with the support of many, so you'll be the person responsible for defining, building and managing the right team to support user growth within the customer segment. You’ll need to try lots of different tactics and be adaptable, employing different marketing and business development techniques and learning from customer feedback to get the message out to other Scottish parents. You will be commercially minded and comfortable in making decisions on where to pursue opportunities, as well as monthly data reporting in line with business expectations.

A typical week could involve any of the following:

  • Showing tenacity and drive, and going above and beyond to reach new customers and build your segment.
  • Sales and marketing spreading the word to new customers that we can help and support! Managing our social media activity and making sure the right messages reach our customers at the right time.
  • Digital optimisation looking at the overall user experience of the Scotland Parents area of the Twinkl site and working with our web and design teams to continuously improve this
  • Business management and strategy putting plans in place to help achieve our ambitious growth targets. Working with other segment and country managers to understand what’s working and how we can improve.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will have at least one or a combination of the following:

  • Marketing and/or social media experience, particularly marketing a product within the education sector
  • Thorough knowledge of the Scotland education market, and of our customers
  • Teaching experience, ideally in Scotland.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action.
  • Sound decision-making skills and diligence in seizing new opportunities.
  • Commercially astute and a strategic thinker who is comfortable taking calculated risks and being accountable for successes and failures.
  • Ability to communicate a shared vision and motivate individuals and a team.
  • Methodical, highly organised, accurate and execution focused

You'll work with:

  • Michele McGarvey - country manager for the Scotland will be your line manager and mentor
  • Jon Seaton - Twinkl's co-founder and CEO will help you grow through his experience, as well as helping to break down barriers.
  • Jay Wynn - England Parents segment manager
  • Neil Cleverley - phase manager
