What will I be doing?

As a Software Engineer in one of the frontend engineering teams, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of key features within THGs ecommerce platform. Bringing together technologies, you will work both independently and as part of a team to provide highly available services, critical to the business. You will write high quality, scalable code that is used to build and evolve services and solve problems both internally and externally.

What would success in this role look like?

• Consistently producing code that is efficient, simple to understand and well tested
• Collaborating with junior members of the team to help support their growth
• Participating in code reviews of others work and give constructive and effective feedback
• Considering performance, core web vitals and accessibility in everything you do
  
  

What skills and experience would I need?

• 3+ years' experience working in a software development team to create and ship software
• Experience of working with large JavaScript applications in a production environment
• Demonstratable experience of at least one JavaScript library (we use React although we’re happy to consider engineers from other backgrounds)
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to find solutions to problems that don’t have an obvious correct answer.
• Experience of SOLID, TDD and Clean Code best practices
• A strong understanding of software development best practices
• An understanding of web accessibility basics
