Job Description

ZeroLight is seeking an experienced People Manager to take a leading role in the Talent Development Team, supporting the Talent Development Director to shape the future HR / Talent strategy across the company.

This position will oversee all people related activities at ZeroLight, managing the employee life cycle from day one establishing systems and implementing procedures to ensure that each and every employee thrives at ZeroLight.

The People Manager will have several key objectives to begin with, the first of which will be the initiation of new performance and review mechanisms within the company, working closely with Line Managers to establish robust employee development frameworks are in place.

The ideal candidate will have five years plus experience in a fast-paced HR role, where contract management, performance standards, and training and development played a big part of the position.

This is a full-time position that is required onsite at our award-winning studio Live Works 3 days per week with the option to work from a home office 2 days.

The Role

  • Manage all employee lifecycle information, touchpoints and governance.
  • Working with the Talent Development Director to establish and take forward a new performance management system that provides all staff with the framework to thrive at ZeroLight.
  • Developing and implementing employee development pathways including:
  • Defining career progression models that prioritise internal development and promotion and allow employees to clearly understand how to forward their career at ZeroLight.
  • Establish an effective training program that covers internal and external training opportunities that are recognised by employees.
  • Set up new apprenticeship pathways within certain teams initially with a view to developing this approach across other key teams.
  • Develop our existing Graduate Scheme to ensure that ZeroLight continues to attract the best grad talent across the UK.
  • Set up a new Leadership and Management program that supports emerging leaders to thrive at ZeroLight and ensures that effective succession planning is in place.
  • Create robust reporting mechanisms for performance and staff development across the company that can be shared at a management level as well as reported up to the Executive team.
  • Develop a calendar of employee events including regular socials and annual events, coming up with creatives ideas to ensure employee engagement remains high.
  • Manage and develop our award-winning wellbeing program ZLWell.
  • Regularly review and benchmark our benefits offering, developing new ideas and implementing these so ZeroLight is seen as an employer of choice in our market.
  • Ensure that employee governance and tracking is meeting the required standards by completing regular checks on information and being aware of HR compliance.
  • Act as the HR representative in all policy related matters.
  • Set up and monitor employee contracts for international staff, ensuring these are legally compliant.

Requirements

  • Experienced HR Manager with demonstrable experience introducing and maintaining new performance and development systems.
  • Able to contribute to and define talent development strategy, taking action and managing all aspects of employee engagement and experience.
  • Well versed in HR contract management, preferably on a global scale.
  • Evidence of establishing employee engagement related events that have a positive impact on the workforce.
  • Able to devise and present training sessions to employees from a junior to executive level, ensuring that content is understood and implemented.
  • Accustomed advising on HR policy and acting as HR representative when dealing with all employee relations.
  • Experience delivering high level employee development planning, coming up with innovative solutions that meet the needs of the workforce.
