About the role
The Energy business has seen continued growth over the last few years and remains in a position of strength coming out of the current economic environment. We have ambitious plans to expand this business in line with our commercial strategy.
As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will work alongside the Energy team and the Energy Management Accountant to support the strategic and operational decision-making process through insights that drive better performance.
What you’ll do
In a nutshell, this is a new role that will be responsible for supporting the Energy Management Accountant with all aspects of finance, management accounting and business partnering for the entire Energy business.About you

• Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA) (at least +50% through exams) and passion to become qualified
• Good A levels / degree qualification
• Minimum +2 years in a Management accounting role with specific experience in - Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts, Preparation of month end and year end accounts to trial balance level including preparation of journals, allocations, balance sheet reconciliations and calculation of provisions and accruals.
• Advanced Excel user essential
• NetSuite experience is desirable
• Hands-on approach with a readiness to be flexible
• A pragmatic approach and the ability to see commercial, customer centric solutions
• Effective communication written and oral skills
• Ability to work with and manipulate large dataset and analyse it and interpret it.
• A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure
