Job Description

Methods Analytics is currently recruiting for a UX amp; UI Designer to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will require occasional travel to offices and client sites.

Requirements

The UX amp; UI Designer will be:

  • Responsible for gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
  • Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets.
  • Meeting with clients to gather information about their requirements
  • Proposing and sketch out a range of visual concepts both on paper and using software applications
  • Working on cross-platform applications to develop user experiences covering mobile phones, tablets and computers
  • Collaborating with other designers, product design and development teams, business analysts, engineers and project managers
  • Liaising regularly with clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives
  • Attending meetings to discuss and review progress on the project
  • Running workshops for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Conducting remote and on-site usability testing with real users to ensure the end-product design provides users with the optimum experience in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and engagement

Ideal Candidates will demonstrate:

  • Experience creating user personas, user journeys and site maps
  • Experience creating wireframes and prototypes using specialist tools such as Miro and Visio
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work.
  • That you are unafraid to take risks, willing to learn from mistakes and appreciate the importance of agile project delivery for digital projects.
  • Ability to make complex and technical information and language simple and accessible for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information and research evidence.
  • That you know how to move from analysis to synthesis and/or design intent. Such skills include: demonstration of the ability to apply logical thinking, gathering and analysing information and evidencing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • You understand and can work within given constraints (including but not limited to technology and policy, and regulatory, financial and legal constraints).
  • You use fundamental principles of visual design (like contrast, alignment, repetition and proximity) to de-clutter user interfaces.
  • That you can use the correct user interface 'grammar': e.g., choosing the correct control in an interface, such as checkbox v radio button.

Desirable Skills amp; Experience:

  • A knowledge of GDS guidelines and principles.
  • Knowledge of tools, languages and methodologies used to deliver data-centric projects
  • You know how to lead a team through the different phases of the delivery product life cycle.
  • Promote best practice and continued development across the business
