We are nDreams, one of the world’s leading developers and publishers focused on VR games.

Combining innovation with excellence, we are the team behind award winning game Phantom: Covert Ops and Fracked. Our AAA experience and sensibilities, alongside bespoke VR technologies, give us the skillset, processes and creativity to deliver innovative, high production games for all VR platforms. We’ve got several exciting projects planned for the year and beyond - we can’t wait to show you more

Our projects continue to push forward the boundaries of VR and we’re looking for talented people to help us turn them into a reality. Our talented studio now has over 100 people and has been assembled from world-leading games developers and publishers.

We are looking for an experienced tools engineer to build and maintain game development infrastructure. This is a challenging but rewarding role, working with a multi-talented team to make cutting-edge VR games as high-quality and efficiently as possible.

  • Construct and maintain automated build services for CI and testing.
  • Maintain distributed build systems.
  • Advise teams on project maintenance using the tools.
  • Develop, or enable and support, tools to enable developers to make great games efficiently.

Skills:

  • Ability to gather requirements, plan, and execute system required using platform provided.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Solid C++, C#, and Python experience.
  • Experience of maintenance of large C++ projects.
  • Ability to react to and resolve problems with live systems.
  • Solid version control understanding using Perforce.
  • Good understanding of game asset pipelines and architecture.
  • Bonus points: Unreal, Docker, Linux, and/or games console programming experience.

Requirements

  • Has a good understanding of modern development practices to help design and maintain tools and pipelines that make use of modern distributed hardware to optimise build and testing times.
  • You enjoy the challenge of building complex systems that are easy to configure and deploy, scalable, and robust.
  • You enjoy working with teams to make the productive and can work independently, communicating your plans.
  • Has enthusiasm for learning new skills and working in a hybrid environment (home/studio).

Benefits

Our expanding company shares a passion for innovation, collaboration and leading the future of VR. We encourage an open and diverse culture and empower people to explore ideas and put their own stamp on their work. With humble beginnings of our own, we combine amazing projects and opportunities with a personal, caring touch.

We offer some great perks, including flexible hours, duvets days, your birthday off, dedicated personal development time, and regular socials and parties, alongside holiday, pensions, health insurance, life cover and more. Our newly refurbished office has some fantastic facilities and is built around collaborative work (and play!).

The hybrid role is based out of our HQ in Farnborough, UK, but with a unique Flex+ policy that incorporates flexible working between home and office. The studio is within easy distance from London and Guildford.

Salary is competitive and dependent on your experience.
