The Role

BenevolentAI builds a broad set of software tools and technologies to enhance and accelerate the discovery of new medicines through artificial intelligence.

The Technical Project Manager will report to the VP of Technical Programme Management and will be responsible for owning one of BenevolentAI’s product delivery areas.

This role will work with different stakeholders in BenevolentAI to ensure effective execution of projects that meet evolving business needs.


Primary Responsibilities:
  • You successfully deliver projects using Agile.
  • You are able to collaborate with cross functional teams to define project requirements, identify dependencies, set priorities, plan delivery and give the teams the support they need.
  • You create communication plans and execute them successfully with the relevant stakeholders.
  • You plan requirements alongside the leads.
  • You promote and coach teams on project management methodologies.
  • You manage projects on a day-to-day basis ensuring smooth progress amp; delivery.
  • You identify, track and communicate status, decisions, actions, risks and issues to relevant parties, and facilitate decision making to resolve blockers in each project.


We are looking for someone with:
  • Experience constructing project plans and roadmaps to meet specific known and scoped out requirements.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams to accomplish goals in a timely manner.
  • Experience delivering using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
  • Fluency in project management tools to document, detail, and track work within the team.
  • Experience turning vague requirements into a clearly defined plan.
  • Aptitude for learning new domains.
  • Effective communicator with decisive yet collaborative leadership style.
  • Can-do attitude and proactive approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.


Nice to have:
  • Experience managing complex technical projects that could be in artificial intelligence, infrastructure or software development.
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Experience conducting or working in academic research.
  • A professional project management qualification is not essential but a bonus e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment.
