Job Description

Due to fantastic recent growth within our professional services, we are looking for a Principal Consultant to join our data practice. Working with some of the best data scientists, data engineers, visualisation engineers and data architects in the country.

You will play an integral part in taking our brand-new data services to market - providing technical and strategic thought across the whole lifecycle of data projects from presales through to sign-off and support.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Taking on technical ownership of data projects and transitioning them from presales to delivery
  • Translating customers business goals and data strategies into technical delivery roadmaps
  • Being able to articulate and explain complex data technologies, architectures and approaches to business stakeholders
  • Architect data and digital solutions that deliver against business strategies and IT roadmaps
  • Implementing data and digital platforms using technology from the Microsoft Azure stack
  • Effort estimation and planning of data projects including resource planning and sizing
  • Making expert recommendations on data tools and technology stacks
  • Providing direction and mentorship to technical resources on the project and across the team
  • Managing customer and key stakeholder expectations on delivery
  • Working alongside the product owner, often acting as technical product owner on data projects
  • Providing technical leadership and direction across data architecture, data engineering, data visualisation and data science
  • Managing the transition of projects to service teams on the customer side
  • Socialising the outcomes and outputs of data projects/programmes with business stakeholders
  • Horizon scanning for new technologies and approaches to value delivery from data, working with the practice to trial, validate and apply them on new projects
  • Drive the creation, evolution and socialisation of the service playbooks
  • Own and carry out monthly/quarterly technical project reviews focussed on providing support and bringing back new ideas to drive marketing/sales/presales
  • Support the sales team in responding to framework bids and technical presales requests
  • Support the sales team in existing account mining from a data and digital perspective
  • Support sales team in driving new account creation and technical proposal writing
  • Support technical partnership conversations with existing, new and potential partners
  • Represent Aiimi services at analyst briefings, interviews and events

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of data platform architecture, concepts and approaches
  • Advanced knowledge of data management, data governance and data privacy (GDPR)
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills (both tech and non-tech audience)
  • Experience in influencing business and technical stakeholders towards desired outcome
  • Knowledge of Agile data project management and DevOps/DataOps
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering data projects from concept through to completion
  • Implementation of data platform using Microsoft Azure stack (AWS and/or GCP would be of added benefit)
  • Experience of using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Databricks and Power BI (or equivalent technologies within AWS or GCP stack)
  • Experience of implementing centralised data repositories and/or Data warehouses
