A bit about us

Wonderbly is the world’s leading personalised publishing company, and Children’s Publisher of the year 2021. We conceive, design, promote, sell, and make unique books for wonderful customers all over the world.

Our mission is to make people feel extraordinarily special, and bring them closer to the people they love, through the power of personalised stories. So far we’ve shipped over 6.5 million books to over 150 countries. We’ve done this in just eight years, and we’re just getting started.

A bit about life as a Wonderbly Growth Analyst

Data is an integral part of the Wonderbly marketing strategy. As a pivotal member of Wonderbly’s Marketing team, and reporting to the VP marketing, you will help us find new answers to the question: How can we wildly increase new and repeat customer numbers and average order value for our personalised books?

This is an expansive role with a stimulating mix of ownership and collaboration. You’ll work across customer insight, budgeting/forecasting, data analysis, data architecture, data pipelines, automation, and more. You will have internal clients across Marketing (inc. CRM), e-Commerce, Operations and Finance. You’ll have a direct impact on our bottom line. The scope for development once you’ve hit your stride is massive.

Key areas of focus are:

  • Ownership of the Wonderbly marketing attribution model. This is the basis of the performance marketing team’s decisions on multi million pound budgets. There’s a huge opportunity to add value by developing the model by adding new channels, datasets and running incrementality tests to calibrate the model output.
  • Creating regular unit volume forecasts for the operations team.
  • Identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets to develop a thorough understanding of our marketing channel, website and customer data.
  • Running exploratory analysis uncover new areas of opportunity, generate hypotheses, and quickly assess the potential upside of a given opportunity.
  • Working with data engineering to develop and implement new analytical tools and improve our underlying data infrastructure.
  • Designing tests, monitoring and reporting on marketing growth metrics and split-test results. Making recommendations based on analytics and test findings.
  • Developing reports and dashboards using Looker, Excel amp; G-sheets.
  • Supporting the Commercial team with data and analysis, performing ad-hoc deep dives into business challenges
  • Driving optimization and data minded culture inside the company.
  • Developing frameworks, models, tools, and processes to ensure that analytical insights can be incorporated into all key decision making.
  • Conducting quarterly training to support team’s self service with Looker

Requirements

You should apply for this role if you:

  • Have been building your career in business analytics, data analysis, and data visualisation for a good few years
  • Have experience developing a marketing attribution model
  • Have experience working with BI and data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau and PowerBI
  • Are looking to level-up in your career, taking on more ownership and strategic responsibility within a commercial organisation
  • Delight in finding opportunities for improvement, implementing changes, and seeing the results of your efforts
  • Are data-driven to the core, supplementing this with a great deal of empathy - for the customer, and for your colleagues.;
  • Are adept at gathering, manipulating and telling compelling stories with your data
  • Know and understand customer segmentation and it’s use within CRM (we use CAMEO but don’t mind if you’ve cut your teeth with a different segmentation provider)
  • Are a power user of Excel/Google Sheets, Google Analytics, and SQL
  • Are experienced working with other data coding languages such as Python or R (desirable but not required)
