Role Description

The Candidate Manager will be responsible for building a qualified pool of best-in-class interim legal professionals to support flexible and other resourcing solutions as well as head hunting for key permanent roles in Cognia’s primary markets. Duties will include end-to-end management of candidates for existing and prospective assignments, providing outstanding customer service in the form of candidate care. This will include working closely with Cognia’s Engagement and Client Managers as well as Hiring Managers to successfully fulfil resourcing requirements and engagements, from identification and screening of candidates through interview, offer, hire, onboarding and successful completion of assignments, together with the development of a strong candidate community for all of Cognia’s interim and permanent legal professionals.

Core responsibilities include candidate relationship management; liaison and management of external vendor partners; matching of appropriate skillsets to client requirements in a timely and effective manner; interview scheduling and preparation; candidate briefing and ongoing support, including performance management and event management for Cognia’s interim legal talent pool. The role will also involve proactively managing compliance (overseeing pre-employment screening and due diligence), internal and external reporting, extensive stakeholder management and regular check-ins with Cognia’s resource pool and external vendor partners.

Support the BD team with market intelligence relating to interim resourcing and up-to-date pricing information, networking effectively to develop a deep understanding of the industry and build qualified relationships with high quality prospects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage candidates to support local and global client requirements through own sourcing and use of our talent partner network
  • Build and establish rapport with interim legal professionals at all levels, with strong emphasis on personal connection
  • Maintain continuous dialogue with Cognia’s interim resource pool through regular pre-hire and post-placement check-ins
  • Cultivate and expand referral and alumni networks, working with internal Recruitment and Marketing teams to drive affinity with the Cognia brand
  • Manage multiple concurrent resource requests and placements
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Engage as a trusted advisor to help shape resourcing requirements and craft compelling candidate submission for clients
  • Pay attention to detail and still keep your eye on the bigger picture
  • Confidently stand up and interact or pick up the phone to candidates and partners to solve problems

Requirements

  • A tertiary-level qualification (BA/BS)
  • An excellent phone manner with objection handling skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills
  • A very strong command of the English language (Written and Spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport as well as persuade, influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing candidates using advanced sourcing techniques (LinkedIn, Boolean searches etc.)
  • 5+ years’ experience as a customer facing relationship manager, ideally in legal services, financial services or professional services sector
