About the roleThe business has seen continued growth over the last few years and remains in a position of strength coming out of the current economic environment. We have ambitious plans to expand this business in line with our commercial strategy.
As the Assistant Accountant, you will primarily work alongside the Energy Invoice Validation Team to assess AP invoices for verification of charges and dealing with queries with stakeholders. We have recently acquired a new Validation tool and this role will be heavily involved in the implementation.
What you’ll doThis is a new role that will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance Development with each area of responsibility. It will be a varied role dealing with many aspects around the business with interactions with many business streams and different people.

- Invoice Validation
- Invoice coding and Reconciliation
- Preparation of Summary Monthly submission
- Forecasting and Variance analysis of Energy costs
- Working with the Energy Management Accountants for accrual maintenance
- Bank Reconciliation cover
- Supplier payment process cover
- File maintenance for month end roll-over
- Sales Invoicing cover
- Team Adhoc duties
Key skills essential experience include:
- Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA) or QBE
- Minimum +2 year in an accounting role with AP experience.
- Advance Excel user essential - demonstrating dealing with high volumes of data
- Accurate and an eye for detail
- Energy Industry experience is desirable
- NetSuite experience desirable
- Hands-on approach with a readiness to be flexible
- A pragmatic approach and the ability to see commercial, customer centric solutions
- Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of stakeholders
- Effective communication - written and oral skills
- Working autonomously
- Steep learning Curve ability
- A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure
