We're at a super interesting stage right now: We are currently the fastest growing video editor in the world, but we’re just in the browser. As you probably know most videos are created, shared and consumed on mobile, which is why we’re looking for our first Senior iOS Engineer to help us create phenomenal video tools for mobile.

What will you be doing?
You’ll be working on our iOS app, which is going to be a powerful video creation tool that allows anyone to create professional-looking videos. VEED has millions of users on the web, and most of them want to use us on mobile too, so we’re confident this is going to be a huge success.
We have a very simple prototype out on the market at the moment. But that app does just one thing, and we want to build something much bigger. So we’re starting from scratch to build a super powerful video creator.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about solving complex technical issues, takes pleasure in their own work, and enjoys exploring new ideas to develop innovative things. We truly believe that the greatest candidates do not think of themselves as simply engineers, rather, they see themselves as makers who focus on numbers for high-performance outcomes. We know that not everyone fits into boxes and we are always learning. Here are a few things that we are looking for:
- You have a proven track record We are a young company and at this stage, we need people that have been through this before. You have worked on successful products and made them even better. You have shipped iOS apps at scale before, and have built products from scratch
- You have an affinity with video editing Many iOS projects are about fetching lists and posting data, but this app won’t be. As you are building a video creation app, you will need to do a lot of image processing-related tasks as well
- You are a team player We work in multi-disciplinary teams you'll work with a group of super-talented PMs, designers, engineers and researchers. Together you'll have to solve really complex problems, so you need to communicate well and be able to have good discussions with domain experts
- You wear many hats This team is at its early stage, which means we're looking for people who enjoy being in a more ambiguous environment and like to help wherever they can provide the most value. Like joining a user call every now and then, to figure out how we can optimise the video creation flow, or setting up a CI environment for our iOS app
- Bonus points if you have worked on something that is in some way similar: like a photo editor or a product that involves storytelling

Our hiring process
We pride ourselves on being a fair and diverse employer, with a transparent hiring process. Our interview process consists of the following few stages:
- An initial phone screening with two people on the team to tell you more about the role and VEED and make sure it's a good fit for both of us
- A technical interview in which you'll be asked to program something simple and submit it to us. Don’t worry: we don't do whiteboard interviews or abstract algorithm challenges
- With two members of the team, we'll talk through the test - you'll be asked to describe what the code does and we'll discuss ways to improve it - this is to get a sense of how you approach problems and solutions for different scenari
