Due to business growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Backend Developer who can showcase their skill set and work side-by-side with our experienced technical team on the game-changing CGHero platform and services.
The Person
- You’ll be responsible for the creation and maintenance of backend tools and technology, including integration and construction of microservices and Laravel components.
- You should be passionate about development and be knowledgeable of recent trends and emerging technologies.
- Have the ability to manage your own time and workload effectively.
- Be available to offer advice and training to others within the team.
- Feel confident reviewing and providing feedback for other team members.
- Familiarity with agile concepts and working in a sprint-based structure.
Salary Range: 45,000 - 50,000 depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Research and develop new tools and technology.
- Work closely with the product teams to architect new features and services.
- Work closely with frontend developers to construct and deliver complex data concisely.
- Maintain the backend application logic, including the CGHero API.
- Ensure the codebase remains clean and fresh, adhering to our code standards.
- Work to and advocate use of TDD processes.
- Manage your own workload.
- Review the work of other team members to maintain code standards and software quality.
Requirements
Essential
- A great portfolio of development work.
- Familiar with any number of backend languages or technologies (PHP, Laravel/Symfony, Node.js).
- Familiar with related package managers (Composer, NPM).
- Familiar with a form of version control system (Git or Mercurial/hg).
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
- Clear communication.
- Previous experience mentoring other developers.
Desirable
- Have had experience using frontend technologies such as Vue.js and NuxtJS, or a similar frontend frameworks
- Previous experience working with containerized environments, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of AWS services and tools.
- A passion for 3D production, animation and computer graphics.
