Senior Backend Developer (Node.js)

We're looking for an ambitious Senior Backend engineer to join our team. Your initial focus will be to build new game modes and add new features to our booking API for our in-venue sim racing experience that will launch late 2022.

Post launch, you will be responsible for rapidly scaling our wider product and platform to international locations. You will be responsible for iterating on our proprietary booking system, website and various proprietary systems and integrations.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to architect, plan, build and maintain scalable RESTful API's. They will need to be personable and capable of digging deep into business requirements to provide a clear understanding of deliverables.

• Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
• Design server-side architecture in Nest.js
• Build and maintain testable API's and services
• Troubleshoot, debug and fix bugs
• Create Unit and Integration tests in Jest and Cypress
• Write technical documentation
• Build a scalable platform that can be used globally across multiple regions

Requirements

In addition to having Node.js and TypeScript experience you will also need to have some exposure to:

Frameworks amp; Libraries

• Nest.js
• Mongoose
• Pusher
• MQTT (Desirable)

Platforms, Services amp; Software

• AWS
• MongoDB
• Figma
• Payments (Stripe / Adyen)

General

• Building RESTful API's
• Creating and managing CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Test Driven Development (Jest amp; Cypress)
• An appreciation for well designed, RESTful API's

Interpersonal and Management

• Mentoring and managing other members of the team
• Giving accurate time estimates for tickets
• Evaluating and communicating risk
• Breaking down large stories into technical tasks that can be delivered iteratively
