Job Description

Production Line Operative/s - Fixed term

Hours per week: 37

Hourly wage: 10.56 plus shift premium amp; overtime available at a rate of up to 21.12 per hour.

Alternate Early / Late Shift patterns

Contract Status: 3 month fixed term contract

Reporting to: Production Team Leader

As a private label cosmetic manufacturing company, we pride ourselves in being able to create, produce, package and distribute high-end product ranges whilst maintaining long lasting relationships with our clients.

Based in our factory in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, we have over 200 people working together to produce top quality products to clients across the UK and beyond. Due to a significant increase in orders, we are looking for production line operatives to join our team on a fixed term contract.

We’re looking for individuals with a keen eye for detail, highly dexterous and the ability to complete repetitive tasks with high quality output. Based on one of the three lines, operatives are required to keep the line running through tasks such as placing bottles on the line, packaging products into their outer cases and cleaning and sanitising the line.

Operative’s tasks rotate on a day-day basis and shifts alternate weekly.

Job Description

Health amp; Safety

  • To be familiar with and adhere to all company Quality, Health and Safety policies
  • Ensure housekeeping and hygiene levels are maintained, including keeping the line clear of debris and ensuring all rubbish is placed immediately in bins
  • Conduct a pre-check of components before placing on the line. This involves checking for faults and ensuring all components are available
  • Follow the line packing specification to ensure pallet configuration is completed accurately

Pre/post Production

Cross check batch codes on the product with the outer packaging before packing into outers.

Production

The following activities can vary and may include other duties appropriate for the role:

  • Placing bottles onto line
  • Placing Caps/Pumps onto bottles
  • Packing Bottles/Jars/Tubes into outers
  • Erecting/coding and packing single user cartons
  • Stacking pallets in line with pallet structures
  • Line Wash Out and Sanitisation

Requirements

Person Specification

Knowledge, Experience and Work Skills Needed:

  • 2 years’ experience in fast moving consumer goods environment, preferably food, personal care or pharmaceutical industry.
  • A good level of education minimum, Maths and English GCSE (A-C)

  • Ability to confidently communicate in English with people from all levels within the business
  • High attention to detail, ability to spot and rectify errors as they occur
  • Able to conduct manual, repetitive work whilst maintaining high quality standards
  • Organised and able to maintain accurate records
