We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Applications Scientist with detailed knowledge of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and their use in therapeutic delivery systems. Reporting to the Head of Science amp; Applications, the successful candidate will have a relevant scientific background, and will work with our team of scientists to use and test the equipment we build with a particular focus on API encapsulation within LNPs. As a Senior Applications Scientist you will be taking an essential part in working with and promoting products that are global leaders in their space and will work closely with the commercial departments within the business.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Using our equipment to produce LNPs and encapsulate APIs to demonstrate system performance and range of potential applications and testing the boundaries of our equipment’s capabilities.
  • Overseeing our Applications Roadmap and content pipeline, driving the release schedule of commercially valuable content for the sales and marketing team, and resources for customers using our systems.
  • Producing various types of data-driven content such as application notes, PR materials, technical notes and product performance data and responsibility for technical document sign-off.
  • Participating in webinars, workshops, conferences and other commercial events where technical expertise is required (note some travel will be a requirement of the role).
  • Leading strategic partnership projects with external collaborators to improve our commercial offering.
  • Supporting the Product Development team by testing products during development and feeding back ideas and improvement suggestions.
  • Supporting the Sales team with application-specific technical knowledge in meetings with customers, and helping our customers understand which of our products they should buy for their application and how to best use our products to support their application.
  • Participate in the specification of new products / particle synthesis platforms and the prioritisation of our product development roadmap.
  • Equipment demonstrations to potential customers, both on and off-site.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest scientific literature relating to our products and their new applications.

    Requirements

    Skills Required:

    • Extensive Experience working with LNPs and relevant encapsulation processes.
    • Detailed understanding of the downstream applications of LNPs.
    • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
    • An academic background in science, e.g. at least a Master's degree or equivalent specialized experience, PhD in a relevant field highly desirable.
    • Experience in practical laboratory work is essential.
    • A strong awareness of laboratory health and safety processes
    • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
    • A proactive attitude towards improving the laboratory environment.
    • An ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Excellent grammar and written language skills.
